What could be better than a weekend of chats, catch ups, tears and laughter with the ladies who know and love you most! Although we all adore our children and can find leaving them difficult, a short weekend of self care and catch-ups can really re-energise you. We find it resets us as individuals allowing us to come home as better Mums.

Our main pre-requisites are, good food, luxury accommodation, lots of bubbles (or mocktails for the Mamas-to-be) and great friends. A destressing massage and detoxing facial in a luxury spa is an added bonus! If this sounds like something which might suit you and your friends then read on for our top choices in Ireland (London version coming soon!):

Hayfield Manor

Cork city offers this amazing luxurious escape. Great in autumn / winter and equally fabulous in the summer when gathering in the stunning walled gardens. The food is fabulous, the lobby, drawing room and library allow for lots of chats and a prolonged dinner. We mustn’t forget the spa and the spacious luxurious bedrooms - perfect for a relaxing weekend with your girls.

Sheen Falls

Sheer luxury....stunning views of the falls, amazing food, spa - a 5 star dream escape. Sheen Falls also offers the perfect location in Kenmare for extensive country walks and browsing in the village. They also have cottages separate to the hotel which allows the best of both worlds; the luxury hotel experience but accommodation that allows you to chat all night long and unwind together by day.

Dunbrody House

Located on the East Coast, this Georgian style country house run by renowned chef Kevin Dundon & his wife Catherine, offers escapism in a relaxed but luxurious setting. Stay in the main country house or one of the lodges and enjoy walks by day in the woodlands and on the coast. Our choice was to stay in the 1830’s Steward’s House, dine in the restaurant on our first night, each opting for the tasting menu (highly recommend) and in the seafood bar on night two. Dunbrody is a great option for the foodies out there. Overall, a thoroughly relaxing and reviving trip!

Opulent reception rooms and bedrooms, 2 restaurants, the lure of the Pullman restaurant making a very special evening- a truly unique dining experience. Comprising of two dining carriages, one of which is called Leona, dates back to 1927 and was part of the original Orient Express. To enhance your stay even further we must not forget the spa, which is the icing on the cake to thoroughly indulging yourselves properly. Did we mention an on-site opulent cinema?
